Since I have a long stretch between books this year, and my next book, THE SOCIALITE AND THE BODYGUARD, prominently features a dog show, I'm going to entertain myself and hopefully you with our very own dog beauty contest in the meanwhile!!!

Peanut, our Beagle the Destroyer, is sponsoring the contest with a $50 gift certificate. (She's our second Beagle. We were spoiled by Lucky, the first, who barely ate any of our belongings at all. Peanut is.... Well, obviously it was a mistake to name her after food. Never let a six year old name your dog! Not that the runner up name, Pretzel, would have been better. On the other hand, our neighbors' kids recently named their hamster Chewy...)
